HYPER EV - Pininfarina Battista

Pininfarina SpA launched their new hyper car in the 2019 Geneva motor show. It’s called Pininfarina Battista. Pininfarina says it is the world’s first pure electric luxury hyper GT. It is named after Battista Farina founder of Pininfarina SpA. It is a fully electric powered car. Battista is equipped with new technologies, aerodynamic design and luxurious interior which makes it one of the luxurious EV available in the market. Only 150 of them will be made, that means there is only few customers in the world to own it. The car will be available in the market by 2020.

Pininfarina is famous for their designing all over the world. They have designed many super cars and luxury vehicles. So in the case of their own car, the design team didn’t let us down. The car follows Italian design all over it. They call it as PURA design philosophy which promote Purity, Beauty and Rarity. In the front, a LED line which connects two head lights works as DRL and indicator which create a unique face to the Battista. The side view mirrors is designed as a functional aero device. The active spoiler provide  three levels of down force and also breaking power at high speeds. Battista uses butterfly doors which makes in and out operation more easily. It uses carbon fiber monocoque and carbon fiber body panels with aluminum crash coloumn. Over all the car looks fabulous.

The interior design is fully customisable. Pininfarina calls the interior design as vanishing point concept. The luxurious interior includes leather seats and high end materials covering it. In the cabin there are three screens available. The left side screen shows driving dynamics and car settings. The right screen shows media and navigation. The centre screen shows speed and gears. The car has three driving modes - pura, energica and furiosa and it is selected using a switch. Actually the driving modes control the output power of high accelerating motors to give time for the driver to think.

Battista is also very good with numbers. Four liquid - cooled motors placed at each wheel, combine they produce a massive 1900 hp and 2300 Nm of torque. With this power Battista can achieve 0 - 100 km/hr under 2 seconds, 0 - 300 km/hr in 12 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 350 km/hr. It is powered by a T - shaped Li - Mg battery with a power of 120 KWh and have a range of 450 km. Pininfarina fused torque vectoring system in Battista. This system intelligently send more or less power independently to the wheels. It allows the car to switch between rear wheel drive to all wheel drive for better handling and controlling. Battista has no engine sound but Pininfarina provided artificial sound to have the feeling of driving a car.

      Battista comes with 21 inch rim with Pirelli P Zero tyre. The car have high acceleration and speed, for breaking power Battista have a 390 carbon - ceramic disc with 6 pot caliper. Battista available in three different colors. Matt - grey with blue accents and aluminium detailing, Pininfarina blue and chrome highlight & pura - white. 

     The electric car industry is getting bigger every year and for Pininfarina it's just a step towards the future.
